Volunteers from Our Community – Special Request

Help a Student Succeed

Marlborough Girls’ College is seeking compassionate and reliable community volunteers who would like to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Our students benefit enormously from the support of caring adults, and we are currently looking for volunteers interested in training as Readers and Writers to support students with approved Special Assessment Conditions (SACs) during internal and external examinations.

This important role helps students demonstrate their knowledge, achieve their full potential, and take the next steps toward university, further education, training, or employment.

About the Role

As a Reader and/or Writer, you will:

  • Support students during assessments and examinations
  • Help students access assessment materials in accordance with NZQA guidelines
  • Provide assistance that enables students to fairly demonstrate their learning
  • Contribute to student confidence, wellbeing, and success

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome expressions of interest from people who are:

  • Compassionate and patient
  • Reliable and professional
  • Good communicators
  • Committed to supporting young people
  • Available to assist during assessment and examination periods

Training Opportunities

Two training opportunities are available to prepare volunteers for the upcoming NZQA external examination period.

To participate, volunteers will need to:

  • Hold a current Police Vetting clearance, or
  • Be willing to apply for Police Vetting

Make a Difference

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in reaching their educational goals while contributing positively to our school community.
